Naming a substitute on a request

Say who covers for you while you are away.

1 min read

Ferio does not have a dedicated field for naming the person who covers your work while you are away. When you want to record a stand-in, the note on your request is the place to do it.

Name your cover in the note

When you request leave, use the Note field to say who is covering for you and how to reach them. The note is visible to your approver and to your managers, so the hand-over sits alongside the dates and travels with the request.

The Note field is part of the flow described in Request time off.

Coordinate before you book

Check who is already off before you pick dates, so your intended cover is not away at the same time. The Request leave drawer flags teammates whose leave overlaps your range, which makes clashes easy to catch early.

Not the same as substitute workdays

Substitute workdays are a separate, admin-level idea: weekend days that a country has rescheduled as working days. They change how leave is counted, not who covers for you.

For that feature, see Substitute workdays.
