The onboarding wizard, step by step

The onboarding wizard walks you through configuring a workspace from scratch, in eleven steps that build on each other. A progress rail on the left shows where you are and lets you jump back to any step you have already completed. It takes about 15 to 25 minutes, and your progress is saved as you go, so you can leave and pick up later.

The eleven steps

1. Company Basics: name, headquarters, fiscal year and work week.
2. Country Profiles: the countries you operate in, from a template or built custom.
3. Holidays: public holidays per profile, imported and then adjusted.
4. Leave Types: paid, sick and any custom types, with approval and document rules.
5. Org Structure: company roles and the teams and departments people sit in.
6. Permissions: software roles and the access each one grants.
7. Work Schedules: full-time, part-time or custom working patterns.
8. Leave Quotas: annual entitlement per role, with per-person overrides.
9. Import Users: add your colleagues, one by one or from a spreadsheet.
10. Opening Balances: leave already taken before Ferio, so balances start correct.
11. Review and Launch: a final check, then go live.

Saving and skipping

Every Next saves a draft, so a half-finished wizard survives a refresh or a return trip days later. If you want to get into the app first, use Skip for now in the top corner; it takes you to the Quick Start guide, and the wizard stays available so nothing you entered is lost.

Nothing is committed to your live workspace until you reach the last step and launch. Up to then you are editing a draft.

Launching

On Review and Launch, Ferio applies everything in one pass: it creates your country profiles, holidays, leave types, teams, roles, users and quotas, sends each invited person a set-password email, and switches the workspace live.
